Rental Assistance Options in Cherokee County
Posted By: CDBG on Mar-09-2021 @ 09:39 am
Cherokee County was awarded supplemental Community Development Block Grant (CDBG] funds through the CARES Act that was signed into law in March 2020 with two separate allocations of CDBG-CV funds. The County awarded a community partner, MUST Ministries, Inc. - Cherokee, supplemental funds to administer an emergency assistance program.
Interested renters can apply for rent and utility relief for up to three months, and may contact MUST's call center at (770) 790-3926 or (770) 790-3927. Learn more about their program by calling the Canton Office at (770) 479-5397 or visiting their website at MUST Ministries - Emergency Assistance.
This program is not the same Emergency Rental Assistance Program [ERAP] offered by the State of Georgia through the Department of Community Affairs. The County is developing a program to enter a partnership to administer its own ERAP funds. Check back soon to get details on how to apply for rent and utility assistance with ERAP funds.
