2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Application Announcement

Cherokee County is announcing the 2022 application process for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for program year January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022.  CDBG provides funding to assist a wide range of eligible activities, including home repair projects; public facilities (e.g. curb and gutters, buildings such as senior centers, or non-profit facilities, etc.); and public services, such as transportation or staff support.  All projects must substantially benefit low and moderate income persons.

The application process opens May 20, 2021.  All applications and supporting materials will be due by 4:00 PM, Friday, July 16, 2021.

Information regarding the application process and applications are on the County’s website at:  http://www.cherokeega.com/CDBG (under Forms and Documents on the landing page).

Cherokee County will offer two workshops that will go over the program process and timeline.  While attendance is not mandatory, it is recommended as Community Needs will be discussed and public input helps in the assessment of needs.  These workshops are scheduled for:

Thursday, June 17, 2021, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Tuesday, June 29, 2021, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Cherokee County Administration Office

1130 Bluffs Parkway, Upper Level

Canton, GA 30114

We appreciate your time in reviewing this information.  Please feel free to pass it along to others within your organization or to any organization that may qualify for funding.  Please contact Laura Calfee lcalfee@cherokeega.com to reserve your spot at one of the workshops.
