NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 2.92% percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Cherokee County Administration Building and Conference Center, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton at the indicated times:  July 2, 2019 at 6:00PM, July 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM; and July 16, 2019 at  6:00 PM.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.366, an increase of 0.152 mills.  Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 5.214.

The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $250,000 is $14.44, and the proposed tax increase for a non-homestead property with a fair market value of $250,000 is $15.20.
