CHINS|CHINS Program Descriptions
Back to CHINSCHINS Workbook – The CHINS workbook is given to all children over the age of 10 when they enter into a CHINS Diversion Agreement. It addresses a multitude of topics such as making friends, dating, drugs/alcohol, social media, etc. The workbook encourages the youth to think about how to manage feelings of anger, resentment, hostility, and frustration so that they are equipped to handle those types of situations moving forward in an appropriate way. It also helps the youth to identify some of their positive traits and evaluate areas for potential development. The workbook has real-world exercises to help overcome difficult situations that the youth may face at school, at home or in the community.
CHIN UP, Tiffney Fraley Program Coordinator (678)493-6256
CHIN-UP is a twice-a-month program empowering our youth to cast a vision for their future. The goal is to find the “what” that motivates our youth. In CHIN-UP the youth will learn the importance of education, passion, and planning. They will achieve this by spending time with mentors of the community by learning how to cook, how to fix things around the house, how to handle money, and a lot more. The youth will hear from people in various positions at these local businesses. Youth will learn various ways a career can enrich their life. All monthly CHIN-UP events are held on the first Thursday or second Tuesday (depending on the class the youth is assigned) at the Children's Haven.
