Juvenile Drug Treatment Court

Juvenile Drug Treatment Court (JDTC) is an intervention program for juveniles who have a drug charge, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug related objects, and/or have multiple failed drug screens. There are two tracks for participants; The Educational track which is for the participants who have a first drug charge. Once the youth has completed the class and paid the fine, the case will be dismissed.  The next stage of Drug Treatment Court is for those who have multiple charges. The Juvenile Drug Treatment Court is designed to supervise non-violent drug dependent youth. The youth are referred to a comprehensive and judicially monitored program that consists of intensive supervision, drug treatment, and rehabilitation. The program is for those who want to change their behavior. JDTC is a collaborative effort between the Juvenile Court staff, District Attorney’s office, Defense Counsel, Department of Juvenile Justice, Treatment Providers, Law Enforcement, Department of Family and Children Services, and the Cherokee County Board of Education School Personnel.
