About this Board
The Zoning Board of Appeals hears and decides appeals where it is alleged there is error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Zoning Manager in the enforcement or application of the Zoning Code. They may also authorize variances from the terms of the Zoning Code regulations under the following conditions:
- Where a literal enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance provisions will result in practical difficulty or unnecessary hardship.
- Where such variance would not be contrary to the public interest because of special conditions.
- Where the spirit of these regulations shall be observed, public safety and welfare secured, and substantial justice done.
Note: A variance may not be granted for a use of land or building or structure that is prohibited by the Zoning Ordinance in the District in question.

Terms run concurrent with appointing Commissioner's term.
