JUDICIAL ORDERS AND UPDATES

JURY TRIALS CANCELLED THROUGH OCTOBER 10

Jury trials scheduled for the weeks of MARCH 23, MARCH 30, APRIL 27, MAY 18, JUNE 15, JUNE 22, AUGUST 24, and AUGUST 31 have been cancelled, due to statewide judicial emergency orders issued by Chief Justice Harold Melton, Supreme Court of Georgia.

SEPTEMBER 24 BOND RETURNABLE/ARRAIGNMENT

If you or your client has a bond returnable/arraignment date for September 24, the process for appearing has changed. We are mailing a letter with instructions to defendants and their attorneys. Defendants will be required to complete and submit a bond returnable form to the District Attorney's Office by October 8. Any defendants who fail to return the form by October 8 will be required to report in person at a later date to be determined. If you have questions, please contact your attorney or the District Attorney's Office at 770-479-1488.

ORDER OF PUBLIC ACCESS

An order issued by Cherokee County Superior Court on March 26 requires temperature scans for all individuals entering the Frank C. Mills III Justice Center. The order was later amended to include additional pre-screening procedures as well as requiring individuals to wear face masks.
