Teen Guys and Girls Group, John Silk Program Manager (678) 493-6549

The teen guys group is a four-week class that focuses on managing pride, life pressures and values, relationship boundaries, social media, and managing anger and criminal consequences geared toward teen boys. The teen girls group is a four-week class that focuses on self-worth, life pressures and values, relationship boundaries, social media, and encouragement and self-worth geared toward teen girls.  

Parent-Teen Communication Group, John Silk Program Manager (678) 493-6549

Parent-teen communication group is a five-week class that focuses on relationships and dynamics between parents and their children. The goal of the class is to help families with communication, understanding differences, anger management, parent and teen discussions, and family issues. This program is presented by two licensed professional counselors that have more than 20 years of experience working with teens and their parents.

Anger Management Group, John Silk Program Manager (678) 493-6549

The Anger Management Group meets for seven weeks with a licensed clinical social worker with numerous years of experience working with adolescents. Topics of instruction include group introductions and discussion on feelings, problem-solving, and developing life skills to combat the issue of anger. Students will learn the anatomy of anger and study methods to reduce anger levels anger in their life.

Multisystemic Therapy, John Silk Program Manager (678) 493-6549

Multisystemic therapy (MST) is an evidence-based program that has an intensive family and community-based treatment that addressed the multiple determinants of serious antisocial behavior in juvenile offenders. MST empowers parents with the skills and resources needed to independently address difficult situations that arise in raising teenagers and to empower youth to cope with family, peer, school, and neighborhood problems.

Cherokee County Juvenile Court offers online programs for children under the supervision of the Court.  While the programs offered may be similar to those offered above, it provides the ability to reach children on a virtual platform.

The Delinquency Program Manager in Juvenile Court is responsible for coordinating certain evaluations to be used to assist the Court in adjudication and disposition hearings. These evaluations may be consented to, or ordered by the Court.  These evaluations include Behavioral Health, Competency, Psychological, Psychosexual, and Drug and Alcohol.
